Tiverton Firefighters Assisted at Little Compton Structure Fire

Tiverton, RI — September 15 — The Tiverton Fire Department provided mutual aid support to Little Compton on September 15 to help local firefighters during a structure fire. Tiverton firefighters worked alongside crews from Little Compton and other nearby communities during the incident. The fire broke out on Long Highway, with emergency response being called in around 10 a.m.for a reported fire involving a detached garage. The flames spread rapidly, prompting the need for extra resources from fire departments in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. A tanker task force was also called in to assist with the operation.

This response highlighted the importance of regional mutual aid in supplying additional personnel, equipment, and water when an incident demands more than a single department can handle.

Little Compton has previously relied on mutual aid and tanker support during other structure fires, including incidents where Tiverton crews were involved.

The Tiverton Fire Department operated from its main station located at 85 Main Road, with the department maintaining multiple stations throughout the town to ensure comprehensive emergency coverage.

Once they had assisted Little Compton firefighters, Tiverton personnel returned to their own community and resumed their regular emergency response duties.
