Collings Lakes, N.J. — July 4 — The Collings Lakes Fire Department responded to a big tree and fallen electrical cables near Delwyn Lane and Linden Terrace. After the fallen tree created a power outage in the neighborhood, stations 12-3 and 12-6 secured the area. While personnel removed the tree and fixed damaged power lines, firefighters collaborated with law officers and the electric utility to provide a safe work area.
Until the hazard was removed and utility work was finished, both routes remained closed. Throughout its Buena Vista Township response area, the department, which has its headquarters at 600 Cains Mill Road, frequently dealt with weather-related situations involving fallen trees, utility lines, and blocked roads.
