Manchester, VT - The Manchester Fire Department VT responded to a structure fire on Main Street, where arriving units confirmed a working fire and upgraded the incident to a second alarm.

Firefighters operated under challenging conditions due to extreme heat, humidity, and the age of the multi-unit building. Crews successfully contained the fire to the structure, preventing extension to nearby properties. No injuries were reported, and several pets were safely rescued. The building was declared a total loss, with the cause determined to be accidental.

Northshire Rescue provided rehabilitation support, while Green Mountain Power secured utilities. Multiple mutual aid departments assisted, and the American Red Cross is supporting displaced residents.
