Patient Successfully Extricated After Vehicle Crash in 100 Block of Ladd Road

Pownal, VT - Firefighters from the Pownal Fire Department and the Pownal Valley Fire Department responded Saturday to a motor vehicle crash on Ladd Road, assisting emergency medical personnel with locating and removing an injured patient.

The emergency dispatch occurred on Saturday, October 10, 2026, directing first responders to the 100 block of Ladd Road following reports of a vehicle collision. Arriving crews integrated operations with the Pownal Rescue Squad to secure the crash scene, address potential vehicle hazards, and assess the surrounding terrain.

Fire personnel assisted emergency medical technicians in tracking down the occupant's location relative to the vehicle and executed a safe patient removal operation. The patient was transferred to the care of rescue squad members for medical evaluation and treatment.

Both volunteer fire companies worked in tandem to manage traffic safety along the rural corridor and ensure all physical hazards were mitigated before clearing the scene.
