Ashaway, RI - The Ashaway Volunteer Fire Association responded to a reported vehicle fire on Woodville Road, where the first arriving officer confirmed a fully involved commercial stump grinder with fire extending into surrounding mulch.

Due to the size and fuel load of the equipment, additional resources were requested, bringing an engine and tanker from the Hope Valley - Wyoming Fire District and a tanker from the North Stonington Volunteer Fire Company. Crews worked collaboratively to bring the fire under control and conducted extensive overhaul to eliminate any remaining hot spots.

All units cleared the scene after operations were completed. The Rhode Island State Fire Marshal's Office responded to investigate the cause of the fire.
