Quick Interior Attack Confines Fire to Residential Addition
Westerly, RI - Dunn’s Corners Fire Department responded to Sparrow Drive for a reported brush fire, which was upgraded to a residential structure fire while units were en route. A first alarm assignment was transmitted, bringing in mutual aid resources to support operations and coverage.
Firefighters arrived quickly and advanced hose lines into the structure, initiating an interior attack that successfully confined the fire to the addition portion of the home. Crews worked efficiently to contain the incident and prevent further extension.
Mutual aid assistance included Ashaway Fire Department as the RIT company, Westerly Fire Department providing district coverage and handling additional calls, and Westerly Ambulance Corps on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
