AVON, NY - On Sunday, July 7th at 6:55 P.M., East Avon and Lima fire departments were dispatched to a field fire on Oxbow Lane in the town of Avon. Units arrived on scene and reported about 5-acres of a wheat field on fire. Command requested a UTV from Avon, and brush trucks from Livonia and York. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes. There were no injuries.
