Firefighters Contain Structure Fire on Ann Street in City of Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY - City of Newburgh Fire Department responded to a structure fire at approximately 7:30 p.m. on July 1st at 287 Ann Street. Command arrived on scene and requested a second alarm after reporting smoke showing. Firefighters used handlines and hand tools to battle the fire. Mutual aid responded to the scene from West Point Ladder, Air National Guard Engine, and New Windsor Engine. Central Hudson was requested to cut power. Deputy Orange County Fire Coordinator 36-13 was also on scene. City of Newburgh Police closed the roadway, and Empress EMS was on scene. The origin and cause are being investigated by the City of Newburgh Fire Department. Cronomer Valley and Highland Engine stood by at the Public Safety Building.
