1RN News Team,
Nashua, NH - Nashua Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle crash at Booth Street and Caldwell Road that resulted in a hazardous natural gas leak.
A single vehicle struck a utility pole, damaging nearby gas monitoring equipment tied to a high-pressure line and causing an active leak. Crews moved the driver to safety and confirmed no injuries.
As a precaution, 12 homes—about 30 residents—were evacuated. Firefighters used a hose line to disperse the gas while monitoring nearby structures.
Eversource cut power to 78 homes, and Liberty Utilities worked to shut down the leak. Once secured and the area deemed safe, residents were allowed to return while utility crews remained for repairs.
