CLIFTON, NJ - Shortly after midnight on June 30th, the Clifton Fire Department was sent to 721 Clifton Ave. for a report of a fire. Companies arrived to visible flames on the second floor of a large two-story medical office building that had been vacant for some time.
Companies opened the main door and stretched several lines in and to the second floor. A second-alarm was transmitted, but when members made the fire room and knocked down the flames, the second alarm was canceled. Trucks laddered the roof and checked for extension and vented out smoke. Interior crews overhauled and also found no extension.
The fire was placed under control in less than one hour, with no injuries reported.
