Chambersburg, Pa. — June 11 — The St. Thomas Fire Department sought mutual help for a farm tractor fire, and Franklin Fire Company went to the 5400 block of Lincoln Way West. When Engine 43 and Squad 41 arrived, they saw a fully engaged tractor and promptly started fighting the fire. Water was delivered by Engine Tanker 18 from St.
Thomas Fire Department, helping crews put the fire under control. Firefighters concluded the incident and returned to service in roughly 45 minutes. The response occurred on a hectic morning at Station 4, where workers were managing many emergency calls in heavy humidity and temperatures close to 90 degrees.
