Members of the Catasauqua Fire Department District 2 responded to a reported brush fire near the Route 22 overpass along North Dauphin Street on June 5th by using mutual aid.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered a massive brush fire that was growing down a slope, according to officials. Engine 2's crew deployed a booster line to tackle the eastern perimeter of the fire before extinguishing remaining hot areas. Additional tankers and brush units from the East Allen Township Fire Department, Allen Township Fire Company No. 1, Whitehall Fire Department-Station 37, and Greenawalds Fire/Rescue helped with station coverage and suppression operations due to the fire's size and limited water supply.
