This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Levittown, Pa. — June 11 — In order to support Yardley-Makefield Fire Company at a residence fire on Weber Drive, Levittown Fire Company No. 1 dispatched Rescue 32 as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT). The basement at the back of the house was where the first responders discovered the fire. By making sure all exits remained available and erecting ground ladders around the building for emergency egress, Rescue 32 developed firefighter safety procedures.

When a fireman encounters an emergency while conducting operations, Rapid Intervention Teams offer prompt aid. After assisting with suppression efforts and ensuring firefighter safety throughout the mutual aid response, Rescue 32 stayed on the scene for approximately ninety minutes before going back into service.
