Crews Quickly Contain Multi-Family Apartment Fire on South Main Street

Norwalk, CT - The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a multi-family residential fire on South Main Street, where crews arrived to find smoke and fire showing from a three-story wood-frame building.


Firefighters quickly located and extinguished the fire in a rear apartment, confining it to the kitchen and dining area. Multiple companies conducted searches, ventilation, utility control, and overhaul, while ensuring the building was safe for reoccupancy.


No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. The fire displaced two residents, who received assistance from the American Red Cross.
