Norwalk Fire Department Quickly Contains Arbor Drive Multi-Family House Fire

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to an occupied multi-family dwelling at 6A Arbor Drive at approximately 1:08 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026.


Upon arrival, firefighters found residents attempting to extinguish the fire with a garden hose while other occupants evacuated the building. The fire, which originated on a porch, had extended up the vinyl siding and into the soffit and roof structure.


Firefighters quickly initiated an aggressive attack and successfully contained the fire with the first-alarm assignment. The fire was declared under control approximately 27 minutes after the department's arrival.


A total of 37 firefighters responded to the first-alarm fire, including four engine companies, two ladder companies, one rescue company, and command and support staff. Norwalk Hospital Paramedics and Darien EMS Post 53 also responded to assist with civilian and fireground operations. The American Red Cross provided support for four displaced occupants. Norwalk Police Department provided traffic and scene control.


No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.


The Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
