WYANDANCH, NY - At approximately 5:45 A.M. on June 26th, the Wyandanch Vol. Fire Co. was alerted for a reported structure fire with people trapped on Commonwealth Drive, with a cross street of Straight Path.

While Suffolk County Police Sector Car 105A was patrolling their sector, they had rolled up on the structure fire and stated that people were trapped. Officers sprang into action and were able to pull three people out of the garage.

Upon the arrival of Chief of Dept. Jarvis Brown (1-10-30), he had smoke showing. Once Quint 1-10-4 arrived, they stretched one line into operation. With a quick knock down of the fire, there was little to no extension.

Wyandanch Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corp was requested to evaluate the victims pulled from the building. One patient was transported to a local area hospital. Mutual aid was requested from the North Babylon Fire Co. for an ambulance (A1-8-17).
