On June 17th, Passaic units pulled up to a raging rubbish fire at the rear of 125 South Street at about 11:30 a.m. The large pile of debris was up against a 1 ½ story vacant mill building that had been vacant for years. Flames extended to the roof area of the structure and a second alarm was called for. The heavy fire in the pile was knocked down quickly but still produced large amounts of smoke. Companies on the roof requested a line to be brought up and opened up to prevent further spread. Command requested the DPW to respond with a bucket loader to break apart the rubbish. Clifton and Paterson provided mutual aid at the scene. All fire was knocked down by 12:45 p.m. Two members were treated by EMS.
