Honor Garden Dedicated to Local First Responders in Bethlehem

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Bethlehem, NY - An honor garden was unveiled and dedicated to local first responders in the Town of Bethlehem on Saturday, June 13th.

The garden is dedicated to honor the first responders in the Town of Bethlehem, including Delmar, Elsmere, Slingerlands, Selkirk and North Bethlehem Fire Departments, Delmar-Bethlehem EMS, Bethlehem Police, and Albany Medical Center-EmUrgentCare.

The sign was developed with the help of Delmar Sign Shop and "Together, we are one Bethlehem", and is dedicated to the efforts of first responders for their difficult work during the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020. The flowers for the garden were donated from the Glenmont Lowe's.

The garden is located in front of the Kevin M. Shea Municipal Training Center, which is located at 40 Center Lane near Magee Park off of Kenwood Avenue.

The local fire departments share this training facility almost every day of the week during the warmer months to train their members for various situations that they may face at an actual emergency scene.

Event organizers say the garden is a spot for community members to visit and reflect.
