This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Roaring Spring, Pa. — May 31 — A car veered off the road and over an embankment near 4417 Woodbury Pike, prompting Friendship Fire Company No. 1 of Roaring Spring to react to the scene. Firefighters arrived and found that in order to reach the patient, specific rescue operations were required. To securely remove the patient from the steep terrain, crews used battery-powered Amkus rescue tools, rope, and rigging equipment.

The patient's care was turned over to EMS staff for transportation after they were hauled up the slope. AMED and mutual aid departments provided on-site assistance. The event made clear how crucial technical rescue training, cooperation, and coordinated efforts are in situations with challenging access.
