Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department Learns Animal CPR

On June 15 2012 The Oradell Animal Hospital came to the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department and taught the members how to preform animal cpr. Dr. Erika Swanke demonstrated How to preform the Heimlich maneuver on a choking dog and How to preform rescue breathing. Dr. Meg Julian explained How to preform cpr all sizes of dogs and cats. Members practiced on several manikins. Assistant Kristen Bender brought her 2 yr old Dalmatian Jake. Jake was able to show the members how to take a pulse and feel a heart beat. The Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department would like to thank Dr. Erika Swanke, Dr. Meg Julian, Tech Liz Stewart, Tech Valerie Maldonato, Tech George Kreal, Assistant Kristen Bender, Assistant Michele Zotollo and Jake.
