At 1:56 p.m. on Thursday, June 13th, the Chaplin, Eastford, North Windham, Willimantic and Mansfield Fire Departments with the Uconn FAST and KB Ambulance were dispatched to 676 Phoenixville Road for a structure fire. Car 709 arrived at 2:01 p.m. with smoke showing from a single-story wood frame so tankers were added from Scotland, Bungay, Columbia and Windham Center. Tanker 109 arrived at 2:07 p.m. and stretched a 1.75” hose line to the rear hitting fire from the exterior. Engine 101 arrived next and stretched a 1.75” hose line to the interior. Chaplin Car 109 had command while Willimantic Car 201 had operations. The Chaplin Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
