Woodbridge 2nd Alarm House Fire 500 Block of Alice Ave 6-12-25

On Thursday June 12th at approximately 2030 hours Woodbridge and Port Reading fire departments were dispatched to the 500 Block of Alice Place in Woodbridge Proper for a reported structure fire. As units were responding multiple callers were reporting column of smoke was visible and there was fire showing from the home. And a working fire was transmitted. Upon arrival, Woodbridge units were met with the first floor fully involved 2.5 story single family residential home and had exposure issues. A first alarm was struck, quickly followed by a second alarm bringing multiple departments to the scene to assist. Crews led off with a hand line and deck gun due to the exposures. Multiple hose lines were stretched knocking down a bulk of the fire from the exterior before making an aggressive interior attack to extinguish all remaining fire on divisions one and two. All departments operated on scene for several hours before being returned.


Crews from Woodbridge, Port Reading, Avenel, Hopelawn, Perth Amboy & Edison, Woodbridge Township MAC coordinators and Woodbridge Police responded. The Avenel-Colonia First Aid Squad and Woodbridge Township CERT provided rehab


The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Woodbridge Fire Prevention Bureau.
