CABOT, VT — June 5th — Near the intersection of US-2 and Thistle Hill Road, the Cabot, Vermont Volunteer Fire Department deployed airbags in response to a single-vehicle collision. When two Cabot firefighters arrived on the scene, they reported the situation to dispatch and offered help right away. Soon after, Cabot Ambulance showed up to examine the driver of the vehicle. In order to support operations at the location, firefighters from the Walden and Marshfield fire departments also responded as mutual aid partners.
The event made clear how important it is for first responders to act quickly and for surrounding departments to work closely together. Emergency officials advised drivers to drive cautiously, stay vigilant, use seatbelts, and adhere to safe driving rules as summertime traffic grows.
