Vehicle Crash Leads To Arrest

Shirley, NY - At about 8:30 p.m., on May 11th, Suffolk Police 7th Precinct officers along with Mastic Ambulance and Mastic Fire Department were dispatched to a vehicle crash with a reported car fire on Floyd Rd. near Floyd Rd. North in Shirley. On arrival, fire chiefs confirmed there was no fire and the fire department conducted some clean up. While the fire department conducted clean up, police interviewed drivers and conducted sobriety tests on at least one. It is unclear at this time if anyone was transported to the hospital, but one person was placed into custody for suspicion of DWI after the sobriety tests. All FD units were back in service in under 30 minutes.
