Munhall, PA - Munhall firefighters responded to a reported structure fire on West 14th Avenue in Homestead, where arriving units encountered heavy fire conditions involving multiple units of a row home.

Engine 203 arrived as the second-due engine and assisted with fire attack on an exposure while crews advanced lines into the structure. During operations, a sudden explosion forced firefighters from the porch, resulting in one firefighter sustaining minor burns.

Crews quickly regrouped and continued an aggressive interior attack, knocking down heavy fire in the attic and preventing extension into the end unit. The fire remains under investigation.
