WEST GREENWICH, RI — May 27th — A reported pickup truck fire prompted Department Lake Mishnock Fire/Rescue, West Greenwich Fire Department #1, and West Greenwich EMS to respond to Weaver Hill Road. Chief 203 was the first to arrive and verified that there was a working car fire. Soon after, Tanker 1 arrived, and firefighters started suppression operations using a handline. In order to swiftly contain the fire and stop it from spreading into adjacent bush, crews collaborated.
Quick action is essential since vehicle flames can quickly spread to nearby vegetation. Coordination of mutual aid amongst adjacent departments made it possible to guarantee that there were enough staff and resources available. Crews retrieved equipment and went back to work after the fire was put out and the area was secured. There were no reported injuries.
