Scituate, RI - Firefighters from the department’s Brush 63 and Tanker 61 responded on mutual aid to the Town of Glocester to assist crews battling a 4-acre brush fire on Willie Woodhead Road. A total of eight members responded to the scene while three firefighters remained in the district to provide station coverage and maintain emergency response readiness.
The mutual aid response marked the second major brush fire assistance call to Glocester in recent weeks. On Wednesday, April 13, Tanker 61 and Brush 63 were also dispatched to Saw Mill Road for another brush fire of similar size. Six members responded to that incident, while nine firefighters remained behind to cover the district during the operation.
Both incidents highlighted the continued regional cooperation between neighboring fire departments during periods of elevated brush fire activity.
