3rd Alarm Structure Fire on South County Trail Brings Heavy Fire Conditions in East Greenwich

East Greenwich, RI - On 25th May at approximately 3:00 a.m., the East Greenwich Fire Alarm Office received multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire at 3400 South County Trail. Upon arrival, crews transmitted a working fire, which was later escalated to a 3rd Alarm due to the intensity and spread of the incident.
Firefighters operated under heavy fire conditions throughout the response. During operations, a smoke explosion occurred while members were inside the structure. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
East Greenwich Firefighters were assisted by mutual aid partners, along with the Special Signal Fire Association and the Providence Canteen, whose support was acknowledged and appreciated.
