Troy Fire Contains Roadside Fire Involving Downed Power Line-*

Troy, VT - Troy Volunteer Fire Department responded to VT Route 101 and Veilleux Road for a reported downed power line that was actively burning across the roadway.
Upon arrival, crews found fire on both sides of the roadway extending along Veilleux Road. Firefighters immediately shut down traffic on both roads and contained the fire at a safe distance from the energized line.
Once Vermont Electric Co-Op secured the power, crews were able to fully extinguish the fire while utility personnel replaced the damaged line. Fire units also assisted with traffic control throughout the incident.
All units returned to service shortly after noon. Strong coordination helped bring the situation under control safely
