Car bursts into flames down by the water in Mastic Beach!

Mastic Beach N.Y. On Tuesday May 18th at 7:56PM the Mastic Beach Fire Dept was activated for a vehicle fire in the vicinity of West Rivera Dr. Captain Artie Surrey {5-13-50} was the first to arrive on scene and confirmed to his members that he had an involved auto and would need a line off the first due engine. Engine 5-13-8 arrived first followed shortly after by tanker 5-13-2 and members stretched lines and immediately went to work knocking down the fire to prevent it from spreading to the Reeds that the vehicle was in. Crews were able to make a relatively quick knockdown. Rescue 4 and Fire Police were also on scene as was 2nd Assistant Chief Luis Grego {5-13-32}. All units were back in service in under 45 minutes time.
