The City of Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 11:06 pm.

The fire was located at #5 Kreiner Ln in a 1 story split level ranch. Initial reports stated a fully involved car fire in an attached garage.  All occupants were stated to be out of the building and accounted for.

Upon arrival, Engine 1 encountered heavy fire coming from the garage and basement. The fire was extinguished in 20 minutes by a 1st alarm assignment consisting of   3 Engines, 2 Ladder trucks, 1 Rescue truck, and a Command vehicle totaling 25 personnel. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the basement area of the residence while preventing extension to the 1st floor and attic. 

There was 1 family displaced by the fire.  There were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians.  The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
