Two Car with Entrapment in Norwich

At 6:58 pm on Monday, 5/18/26 the East Great Plain Fire Department with Norwich’s Engine 1 and Battalion 1 as well as American Ambulance and the CT State Police were dispatched to Interstate 395 Northbound for a 2 car accident with injuries. State Police arrived and reported one person trapped, so the Battalion added Squad A.
Rescue 5 arrived at 7:07 with a vehicle in the center median and another off the right shoulder. Rescue 5, Engine 1 and Engine 52 extricated one patient which was completed at 7:16.
Squad A and ET 51 staged on Salem Turnpike for a short time and were returned. The northbound lanes of the highway were shut down for a while. Service 5 opened the high speed lane at 7:39.
