Newfane, VT - Firefighters responded to a brush fire on Timson Hill Road after a tree fell onto power lines, igniting surrounding vegetation and creating hazardous conditions.

Crews were initially unable to engage the fire until power was secured, delaying suppression efforts as utility hazards remained active.

Once conditions were deemed safe, firefighters moved in to knock down the fire and began working through remaining hot spots.

The incident prompted additional mutual aid from East Dover and Dummerston, as Newbrook personnel were also committed to another emergency involving a medical helicopter landing at Onyon Field.

Officials urged the public to avoid the area during operations and reminded residents that fire danger remains elevated, advising against outdoor burning until conditions improve.
