BEACHWOOD, N.J. — May 5th — Responding to a residential structure fire in the 100 block of Station Avenue were firefighters from the Beachwood Vol. Fire Department. When Chief 3800 arrived, there was a strong fire coming from the front side of the house on the second level. He asked for a complete first alarm assignment. Before crews stepped inside for an intensive interior attack, Engine 3801 used a handline to put the exterior flames.

Although the second level suffered significant damage, firefighters swiftly limited the main body of fire to the room of origin. The rest of the house was damaged by water and smoke. Before personnel arrived, three passing people forced inside and assisted in the evacuation of inhabitants. There were no reported injuries.
