The Township of Washington Fire Department was called to a reported brush fire that was endangering a wooded area behind a house on April 15, shortly after 4:30 p.m.

When crews arrived, they discovered that the fire was growing farther into the forest. In order to reach and put out the fire, first-due units stretched about 350 feet of hoseline. After that, firefighters carried out comprehensive overhaul operations to find and eliminate any residual hot spots. Before resolving the issue, crews worked on the scene for around two hours.

This was the department's third brush fire response in four days, according to officials.
