PEPPERELL, MA - On May 4th, Pepperell firefighters were dispatched to the rail trail off of Shawnee Road for a reported brush fire. On arrival, companies discovered a fully-involved wooden hut type structure. Command requested mutual aid brush trucks and tankers due to the tough access to the area. Companies remained on scene for several hours extinguishing. The town DPW brought a backhoe out to the scene to assist in pulling apart the pile.
