At 6:08 pm on Friday, 5/2/2025 the Sterling, Oneco, Moosup, South Killingly, Atwood Hose, Plainfield and Danielson Fire Departments with the Moosup Ambulance were dispatched to 61 Church Street for a house fire. Car 67 arrived, assumed command and reported half of the duplex well involved.
ET 168 arrived and stretched a line to the front. Crews operated inside for a bit before being pulled out to go defensive. Ladder 194 positioned in the front and Tanker 168 hit it with their deck gun. Crews used the hydrant in the neighborhood to feed the initial lines. Hose Tender 196 then laid to a pond and establish the second water supply.
Command transmitted the second alarm at 7:10 which added Western Coventry and Moosup Valley Rhode Island as well as Jewett City’s FAST. Car 94 had operations and the Sterling Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
