Jamestown, RI - Firefighters from the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on Plymouth Road after an alarm activation and reports of smoke coming from the first floor.

Command arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire, prompting an immediate interior attack. Engine crews advanced a hose line into the residence, locating the bulk of the fire in the kitchen area.

A swift and aggressive fire attack led to the flames being knocked down within minutes.

Additional companies supported operations with ventilation and overhaul, opening up walls and ceilings on the first floor to ensure no hidden fire remained.

Crews remained on scene for an extended period conducting thorough checks and extinguishing remaining hotspots.

The fire was successfully contained to the kitchen, preventing further damage to the rest of the home. No injuries were reported, and all units later returned to service after completing operations.
