Tiverton, RI - Firefighters from the Tiverton Fire Department responded to a reported vehicle fire along Route 177 near Quintal Drive, arriving to find the car completely engulfed in flames.

Crews quickly stretched hose lines and worked to bring the intense blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby areas.

Due to the severity of the fire and the need to ensure firefighter safety, Route 177 was temporarily shut down, causing brief traffic disruptions in the area.

The incident also resulted in damage to a nearby utility pole, prompting a response from Rhode Island Energy to assess and address any potential hazards.

Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of emergency crews, the fire was successfully extinguished without any reported injuries. The roadway has since been reopened, and normal traffic flow has resumed.
