Pleasant Hills, PA - Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company responded as part of a first-alarm assignment to a residential fire in Jefferson Hills after a chief officer came upon the incident and transmitted it directly to dispatch.

What began as a small fire at the rear of the home quickly intensified due to wind conditions, extending rapidly into the structure.

The first-arriving engine deployed a handline to the rear for initial suppression, while additional units established a water supply and advanced further lines.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions on both the first and second floors, ultimately placing multiple handlines into service to bring the blaze under control.

Command was established and later transferred to a deputy chief as operations continued. Crews remained on scene for several hours conducting suppression, overhaul, and support operations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal.
