GETTYSBURG, PA — June 11th — A reported car accident on Mummasburg Road in Cumberland Township prompted the response of Gettysburg Fire and Adams Regional Emergency Medical Services. When Rescue 1 arrived, they discovered one patient outside of a single-vehicle rollover. The individual was found to have been thrown and suffered severe injuries by the crews. Firefighters helped EMS personnel on the scene, secured hazards, and administered emergency medical care.

A medical helicopter was sought because of the severity of the injuries. While other troops assisted with operations, Rescue 1 and Engine 1-1 set up a landing zone at a nearby soccer field. Fire police handled traffic control while units stayed on the site for around an hour.
