BERGENFIELD, NJ - On April 29th at about 9:30 A.M., Bergenfield firefighters were dispatched to 84 Columbia Ave. for a report of a garage fire. Heavy smoke was showing from a one-and-a-half story, two-car, detached garage on arrival. A “working fire” was sounded, bringing mutual aid to the scene. The garage was vented and a line was put into operation and quickly had the fire knocked down. No injuries were reported. The cause is initially believed to be electrical.
