Around 10:30pm on Monday April 30, 2012 Worcester Fire Alarm transmitted box 9-03 after receiving numerous calls for flames coming from the second floor windows at 28 Copperfield Road.
As quick as the box could be dispatched Engine 9 would arrive on scene as their firehouse was only a block away in the city’s Tatnuck Square section of the city.
Engine 9 advised Car 3 they had fire showing from the second floor porch of a 2 ½ story wood framed home at this location and would be stretching an attack line.
The fire was held to just a single alarm as most of the fire was contained to just the porch area of the home with minor extension spreading upwards into the attic area.
Fire units started to clear the scene in less than an hour after arriving on scene.
The cause of the fire was being investigated by the Worcester Fire Department investigation division.
