Belfast, ME — April 24th — A reported structure fire in Belfast prompted the Morrill Volunteer Fire Department to respond on mutual aid. In roughly six minutes, the first Belfast Fire and Rescue personnel arrived at the scene and reported that there was a lot of fire on the first and second levels. They asked for more units from Morrill, Waldo, and Monroe.
In order to completely suppress the fire, crews employed a transitional approach, putting out fire from the outside before moving inside. After the fire was contained in 30 minutes, overhaul procedures were carried out. Every occupant was there and unharmed. A complete loss was recorded for both the structure and its contents. The cause of the fire is still being looked into. The homeowner was helped by the Red Cross.
