Morrill, ME — March 27th — Due to a possible structural fire, the Morrill Volunteer Fire Department was called to Searsmont. As part of a mutual aid assignment, Morrill units started to respond. While traveling, Searsmont Command informed arriving companies that the situation was under control and that no more resources were needed. Morrill units were then put on standby before arriving and put back into service.
A thorough reaction is frequently prompted by reports of potential structural fires in order to guarantee sufficient personnel and equipment. Assignments are modified in accordance with conditions after first-arriving personnel finish a size-up. In this instance, command decided that the forces already present could handle the situation.
