NEWTON, MA - Around 11:30 A.M. on April 24th, Newton Fire received a call for a house fire at 8 Center Avenue, up one block for Engine 4. Within minutes, a second-alarm was transmitted, bringing mutual aid from Waltham and surrounding towns. The fire was difficult to extinguish, which prompted a third-alarm. It took more than three hours to contain it.
