LITCHFIELD, CT — The Litchfield Fire Department responded with multiple mutual aid companies to a large brush fire at Burr Pond State Park in Torrington, providing critical support to ongoing suppression efforts.

Engine 4 was assigned to tanker standby operations, assisting with the water shuttle supplying crews on the fireground. Engine 1 established a tanker fill site to ensure continuous water availability for responding units.

All Litchfield personnel were later released and returned to service following operations.

Despite recent rainfall, fire officials warn that fire danger remains high across Litchfield County. Open burning is not permitted, and all burn permits are considered invalid under current conditions.
