Bethel, CT - Bethel Fire & EMS responded to a reported structure fire on Rector Street, where the chief arrived within moments and confirmed a working fire in a mixed-use building with flames showing from a first-floor apartment. A second alarm was struck due to the building size and visible fire conditions.

Engine 6 and Truck 1 made an aggressive interior attack, quickly knocking down the fire while mutual aid crews, including Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company, assisted with searches and checked for extension. All occupants had safely evacuated prior to arrival, and no injuries were reported.

The fire was contained to the room of origin thanks to the rapid response and coordinated efforts. Bethel EMS provided firefighter rehab, while the Red Cross is assisting displaced residents. The cause remains under investigation.
