Livingston Crews Knock Down Attic Fire on Morningside Drive

Livingston, NJ — March 15th — At around 6:23 p.m., the Livingston Fire Department responded to a working home fire at 45 Morningside Drive. Initially,When Engine Company 5 arrived, they found fire in the attic area and launched an aggressive interior attack. To aid with suppression efforts, Engine Company 1 extended a line to the back. Due to shifting conditions, personnel were evacuated twice during operations as a precaution. Firefighters re-entered and resumed their offensive after reevaluating.


Due to the fire's hidden and difficult-to-reach location, all responding crews had to work together to put out the fire.


While the West Orange Fire Department, Millburn Fire Department, and Cedar Grove Fire Department handled coverage, the Roseland Fire Department, East Hanover Fire Department, Caldwell Fire Department, and West Caldwell Fire Department offered mutual aid. In addition to the Bell and Siren Club of Livingston, the Livingston First Aid Squad supplied EMS support.


Crews demonstrated coordinated actions across several agencies by cooperating to put out the fire.
