Engine 63 Leads Fast Response to Vehicle Fire in Kenilworth

KENILWORTH, NJ — March 10th — Operating out of Fire Headquarters at 491 Washington Ave., the Kenilworth, NJ Fire Department and Rescue Squad responded to a reported vehicle fire in the 700 block of Vernon Avenue. When Engine 63, Squad 2, Rescue 2, and command units arrived, they discovered an automobile fire that needed to be put out right away. Engine 63 crews started suppression operations and extended a front bumper line. The vehicle's damage was limited and the fire was swiftly put out.


At the time of the occurrence, the car was empty, and no injuries were reported. To finish the overhaul and look for any last hot spots, crews stayed on the scene. Fuel and electrical risks are common in vehicle fires, necessitating quick engine company operations.
